1. Travel To Flores by Flight
Flores Island with an area of approximately 15,531 km² has several airports spread across districts or cities, including; Labuan Bajo, Ruteng, Ende, Bajawa, & Maumere. However, the only airports that have large runways are in Labuan Bajo, Ende and Maumere. Flights to this airport come from Bali, Jakarta, Surabaya, Makasar and Kupang, while the other airports mentioned above only serve pioneer flights, from Kupang or Sumba. 2. Travel To Flores by Boat
Travel to Flores Island using an airplane is the most efficient way, but you can also use a ship which is relatively cheaper. PT. Pelni Indonesia, serves shipping routes to the island of Flores starting from Bali, Surabaya and Makasar with destination ports in Ende, Maumere and Labuan Bajo. There are various choices of ships with each ship’s schedule usually once every 2 weeks. Apart from that, there are also ferries that cross to Flores from several nearby islands, such as Sumba Island, Timor Island and Sumbawa Island.
