ITINERARY
Day1: Ende ā Moni
Upon your arrival at Ende Airport (ENE), our representative will welcome and pick you up to begin the beautiful road trip to Moni. During this relaxing journey, you will stop and visit Jopu Traditional Village, an old settlement that serves as an authentic representation of the Lio Tribe’s culture on Flores Island. There, you will not only admire the traditional architecture but also get an immersive experience to learn the steps of traditional Tenun Ikat (handwoven fabric) making firsthand. From traditional yarn spinning and dyeing to the intricate motif-making techniques, you will gain an understanding of this precious cultural heritage. After the deep cultural experience in Jopu, the journey will continue to Moni, where you will check in to your hotel for rest and preparation for the following day.
Day 2: Moni ā Riung
The day starts very early with a drive to the famous Three-Colored Kelimutu Lake, the icon of Flores. At the summit, you will have the opportunity to capture the magical moment of the sunrise illuminating the three crater lakes, which often change color, creating an unforgettable spectacle. After enjoying the panorama, we will return to the hotel in Moni for breakfast and check-out. The journey continues with a visit to the Wolopaku Coffee Plantation, where you will delve into the complete process of Flores coffee production, from seeding and harvesting to the final packaging. Next, we will head to the coast to enjoy lunch at the unique Blue Stone Beach (Pantai Batu Biru). True to its name, this beach is adorned with scattered blue-colored stones along the shoreline, offering an exotic backdrop. In the afternoon, the journey will proceed to Riung, a coastal town, for hotel check-in and preparation for the next day.
Day 3: Explore Riung
After breakfast, you will be taken to the harbor to start a day of exploring the beauty of the Riung 17 Islands National Park. The adventure begins with a boat trip to Kalong Island, where you will witness the unique sight of millions of fruit bats (kalong) hanging peacefully from the mangrove tree branches. Afterwards, the boat will anchor at Tiga Island, the perfect destination for your first snorkeling session and preparation for a delicious barbecue lunch by the beach. After lunch, the snorkeling activity will continue to explore the underwater beauty of two other charming islands: Tembang Island and Rutong Island, known for their rich coral reefs and marine life. In the late afternoon, we will return to the harbor and take you back to the hotel for a rest. (As an alternative adventure, you also have the option to spend the night camping on one of the exotic beaches in the area).
Day 4: Riung ā Bajawa
After enjoying breakfast and completing the check-out process from the hotel in Riung, a comfortable road trip will take you to the Bajawa area. Todayās route will start with a stop at the Menggeruda Hot Springs, where you can indulge in a soak in the natural hot pools, believed to have therapeutic properties, refreshing your body after the sea adventure. En route to Bajawa, we will briefly stop at the Bou-Bou Traditional Market, giving you the chance to observe and interact with local life and look for local handicrafts. In the afternoon, the highlight of the day is a visit to Wolobobo Hill. From this altitude, you will be treated to a stunning natural panorama around the Bajawa area, as well as capture the magical moment of the sunset painting the sky over the majestic row of volcanoes.
Day 5: Explore Bajawa
The day begins after breakfast with a visit to the Bena Traditional Village, an icon of the Ngada Tribe’s culture in Flores. This megalithic village is famous for its rows of traditional straw-roofed houses circling the Ngadu (male symbol) and Bhaga (female symbol), which are deeply rich in ritual meaning. After exploring Bena and several other traditional villages nearby, the journey continues to a unique natural phenomenon: the Malanage Hot and Cold River. At this location, you can witness and experience the extraordinary confluence where the hot spring water meets the cold river flow, allowing you to soak at the meeting point of the two contrasting water temperatures. In the afternoon, we will head to Avatar Hill (or Laba Hill), a perfect spot to enjoy spectacular views. From this hill, you can admire the magnificent beauty of Mount Inerie towering in the distance, set against the backdrop of the vast ocean. After a day full of exploration, you will return to the hotel for a rest.
Day 6: Bajawa ā Ruteng
After breakfast and the check-out process from the hotel in Bajawa, the road trip to Ruteng will commence. The first stop is in Aimere, an area renowned for its local liquor production tradition. Here, you will witness the direct distillation process of Sopi, a traditional alcoholic beverage of Flores made from palm sap, providing insight into the local wisdom of processing natural resources. The journey then continues with a stop at Ranamese Lake, a volcanic lake surrounded by dense tropical rainforest. You will have time to walk along the lakeside and enjoy the beauty and freshness of the mountain air. Afterward, the journey to Ruteng town will continue for hotel check-in. In the afternoon, you will be invited to visit the Ruteng Traditional Market, the largest traditional market on Flores Island. This is a golden opportunity to observe the dynamics of local community life and see the diverse staple goods and agricultural produce being traded.
Day 7: Ruteng ā Labuan Bajo
After enjoying breakfast and completing the check-out process from the hotel in Ruteng, the final day of this exploration begins with a short walk on the Golorenda Walking Trail. This activity will take you through the villages surrounding Ruteng, offering an opportunity to observe the daily life of the local people and enjoy the fresh air. The highlight of the Ruteng landscape exploration is a visit to the spiderweb-shaped rice fields (Lodok). The unique system of rice field division resembling a spider’s web is a fascinating representation of local wisdom in agrarian spatial planning. After documenting this unique beauty, the long road trip will begin, taking you driving towards Labuan Bajo. Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo, your entire 7-day, 6-night Flores tourārich in culture, nature, and adventureāwill conclude, leaving behind sweet memories of the exoticism of Flores Island.
